back in Lima
hey friends!
We are back in Lima with hot showers! Praise the Lord! We had a safe trip and left San Jose de Quero this morning around 7 making it here to Lima by 230.
Last night was one of the best nights if not the best we´ve had so far. Mike, Don and I shared our testimonies and Don brought it with the Gospel. I don´t have an official count but I think it´d be safe to say around 20 accepted Christ last night. They were mostly children, but a couple elderly people made it forward. Thats what its all about.
We´ll be headed out of Lima on the 29th and all can´t wait to see friends and fam. See everyone soon!

a few days left in San Jose de Quero
Hi all!
Yesterday and today have been busy and fun days. Sunday morning we woke up bright and early at 630 for breakfast and then went down by the river for a time of worship and encouragement by sharing scriptures. Afterwards we split up in different groups and went house to house to talk to people about the Gospel and inviting them to the service we have going on. In the group I´ve been in I´ve gotten to see Hector, one of our translators, share the Gospel many times and have many accept. Please pray for these new believers that they would get in the Word and share it with other people. There is a lack of believers who can lead. Please pray that here and in the neighboring villages God would raise up leaders of the faith.
Thank you for your continued prayers for our team here. Nic, who has been not feeling well, is now just about 100 percent back. Please pray that our last couple of days in San Jose de Quero would count for the name of Jesus and God´s will would be done.
We´ll see yall before you know it!

one week down, one to go
Hey friends!
Just want to give a quick update here from Huancayo. We made it in safe yesterday afternoon to Huancayo and have all taken hot showers. (Praise the Lord) I´m pretty sure though this is one trip where the guys have taken a good many more showers than the girls...you can draw your own conclusions from that.
You can please pray for our next week of ministry in San Jose de Quero that we would be able to be effective ministers of the Gospel. We got to share some yesterday at the market in a neighboring village, but please ask that we would be able to talk more about the hope that lies within us.
Thanks and thanks! see yall soon!

Hi again friends!
Just a quick update on the past two days here in Quero. Yesterday was an amazing day to take in all the ridiculous scenery around us. We didn´t have any ministry planned for the morning time, so we took a hike. We split up in groups as we went different ways up the mountains and I´m sure noone was disappointed. I´m not sure I want to make the hike to 14,000 feet again, but the view on top was sure worth it.
That night we split up and most stayed here, but a few students went with Larry, our fearless leader to Usibamba, a neighboring village of around 1,000. Here we had a time of worship and teaching. Please pray for the beleivers here, specifically, Maruja. She is a very spirited woman, and a definite leader. There is such a need for discipleship and leadership here.
This morning we all headed out to Usibamba and painted a large wall where they play something like wall ball-racquet ball.
Please continue to pray for our team here and the people here in San Jose de Quero and the neighboring villages. The time is flying and we will be back in the States before we know it. Pra that we would use the time wisely and that the Gospel would spread!

here in San Jose de Quero
First off we´d like to say thanks for the many prayers going up on our behalf. Although we had 2 long days of travel, we have made it safely here. Early on the morning of the 15th the Lord already had a chance to show off His faithfulness and provision for our trip when we walked up to the ticket counter and found out our Charleston to Miami flight had been cancelled the night before.
This isn´t the best news you´d like to hear with a team headed that way, but it did all work out. The lady at the ticket counter worked with us for quite a while and seemed doubtful that we would find a flight to Miami in time. The Lord totally provided and we figured out a route to Newark and then Miami to Lima. They were calling Don and my name over the intercom to tell you how close it was, but we made it.
After getting into Lima we left around 8 the next morning and headed straight to San Jose de Quero. After some good food on the road, we arrived here just after dark.
This morning a good bit of the group got up and explored some of the ruins and hiked up to a peak at the top of the mountains. It is a beautiful thing to wake up and be surrounded by these mountains. Today has been a laid back day with some orientation by Larry and Mindy describing the work that has gone on here and how we fit in. Lunch today was at a local restaurant where we had a two course meal for around $1.25 per person. And it was good stuff!
Right now some have gone prayer walking and some are going up in the fields to find our 70 year old friend Teodoro, get to know him and discuss some Bible stories.
Please continue to pray for our team and the people around here. Pray that the Holy Spirit would be at work and we would all have eyes to see and ears to hear what he is doing

And they're off to Peru
Ask any member of the team what the key word for the trip is and they will quickly respond.
"Flexibility".
Good thing for it because the team met this morning at 5am to find out their flight from Charleston to Miami had been cancelled. After working with the airline and travel agent we were able to get them on a last minute flight (meaning--the speakers throughout the aiport..."Last boarding call for Lauren Denton, Don Squires...the doors are closing") on a different carrier routed to New York City then to Miami.
But that's part of it. God has them.
They are set to fly out of Miami at 7:15pm and land in Lima, Peru at 11:55pm with the missionaries waiting for them. Here's the rest of their schedule. Thanks for praying for them.
